Title : The Effect of Cybersecurity Competency Towards IoT Readiness: A Study On ICT Workforce In Malaysia

Abstract :

The proliferation of IoT devices has driven new opportunities in many aspects of human life. The adoption of IoT technologies in an organization is expected to facilitate and improve the organization’s processes and operations. However, there are growing concerns about the failure of IoT implementation in an organization due to employees’ lack of readiness. The issue is deepened with the increase of security risk as the technologies come with vulnerabilities and prone to undetected threats. Therefore, the needs for the employees to be equipped with cybersecurity knowledge and skills are inevitable, to ensure seamless operation during the IoT adoption. The objective of this paper is two-fold: First, this paper aims to present current evidence of ICT employee’s readiness to adopt different aspects of IoT technologies in their organization. Second, to analyze the importance of cybersecurity competency towards IoT readiness as it pertains to ICT employees in Malaysia. This paper adopted a quantitative methodology where data from a survey (N=203) of ICT employees is analyzed. This study offers understandings of which cybersecurity competency area could affect employees’ IoT readiness in an organization.  The findings show that the current level of IoT readiness of the ICT workforce in Malaysia is somewhat low. Additionally, findings have shown there is a significant difference in IoT readiness in the ethnicity and job position groups. Finally, the findings reveal that knowledge, skills, and ability in cybersecurity is positively correlated with ICT employees’ IoT readiness. This study may benefit other decision-makers attempting to understand employee standpoint’s on IoT readiness in their organization

Title : 3D RECONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUE FROM 2D SEQUENTIAL HUMAN BODY IMAGES IN SPORTS: A REVIEW

Abstract :

The process of 3D Reconstruction is a fundamental problem in Computer Vision. However, recent researches have been successfully addressed by motion capture systems with body-worn markers and multiple cameras. To recover 3D reconstruction from a fully-body human pose by a single camera remains a challenging problem. For instance, noisy background, variation in human appearance, and self-occlusion were among these challenges. This thesis investigated methods of 3D Reconstruction from monocular image sequences in vigorous activities such as sports. Six current methods were selected based on their focus on recovery fully automated system for estimating 3D human pose for 2D joint location. These researches have been developed as an algorithm that can solve the ill-posed problem. The evaluation of the methods was divided into two sections. First, each process's theoretical and comparative study was disclosed to identify the technique used, the problems that inquired, and the results achieved in their approach. After that, the advantages and disadvantages of each method were listed. Also, several factors, such as accuracy, self-occlusion, and so on, have been compared amongst these methods. In the second stage, based on the advantages found in the first stage of evaluation, three methods were chosen to be evaluated using a specific data set. Initially, the codes of the three methods on the PennAction dataset (tennis) were run, and the performance of the methods in 3D Reconstruction is showed. Then, the methods were tested on a varied activities sequence from the CMU motion capture database. This study's novel is the evaluation of current methods based on the accuracy of their performance on the specific dataset of a tennis player. We also proposed a technique that combines each technique's particular advantages to create a more efficient method for 3D Reconstruction of 2D sequential images in outdoor activities

Title : A Hybrid Haptic Stimulation Wearable Device to Recover the Missing Sensation of the Upper Extremity Prostheses’ Users

Abstract :

A hybrid haptic feedback stimulation system that is capable of sensing the surface texture, and the temperature, simultaneously, was designed for a prosthetic hand to provide a tactile sensation to amputation patients. In addition, the haptic system was developed to enable the prosthetic’s users to implement withdrawal reflexes due to the thermal noxious stimulus in a quick manner. The re-sensation is achieved by non-invasively stimulating the skin of the patients’ residual limbs, based on the type and the level of tactile signals provided by the sensory system of the prostheses. Accordingly, a novel hybrid pressure-vibration-temperature feedback stimulation system was designed to provide a piece of huge information regarding the prosthesis's environment to the users without brain confusing or requiring long pre-training. An evaluation of sensation and response will be performed with healthy volunteers to evaluate the ability of the haptic system to stimulate the human nervous system. The results were presented in terms of the Stimulus Identification Rate (SIR). The test results and the volunteers' response established evidence that amputees are able to recover their sense of the contact pressure, the surface texture, and the object temperature as well as to perform thermal withdrawal reflexes using the solution developed in this work

Title : Factors Affecting the Road Safety Audit in Operational Stage

Abstract :

Road safety audit is in the operational stage important to be conducted properly to ensure the safe operation of a road. There are several factors which might be affecting successful road safety audit, e.g. audit object, road environment, auditing method, auditor characteristics, etc. Those factors spread among either academic literature or audit regulations. This paper is intended to describe the factors in detail and at the end list the draft questionnaire which was used in the pilot survey before the main survey to determine the most important factors conducted later

Title : Application and Use of Business Intelligence to Monitor Corporate Finance

Abstract :

Today the business world is developing very dynamically. Every company must always develop with innovation because the development and market demand and consumers are very dynamic and always changing. This will have an impact on the company's revenue and expenses. Management is demanded to be able to make quick decisions to support these decisions. But the decision must be with a lot of consideration even though management is required to make decisions that are fast, precise and effective. In this article the method proposed by researchers to develop business intelligence for finance is to use the ASAP method which has 5 phases, namely project preparation, blueprint, realization, final preparation and production support. Many companies have not used technology to help management in making decisions. Many of them rely on daily reports to do a summary even though this takes time. Using business intelligence is a misuse of the right technology. Business Intelligence itself is one of the proper uses of technology. The use of business intelligence must also be supported by data warehouses and operational systems so that daily data will be processed and reported to management as a media for decision making. In this study, BI systems, data warehouse and operational systems use SAP systems and operational systems use ERP. The research has limitation that cloud base data not yet adopted. In this study where there is a BI system associated with monitoring revenue, cost, balance sheet and ratio. The method used is the Accelerated SAP (ASAP) method. Finally, in the final results of this study where management can control and see the financial aspects of the company before making a decision
