Title : Piloting the Role of Corporate Governance and Creative Accounting in Financial Reporting Quality

Abstract :

Recently, studies suggest a potential relationship between corporate governance and creative accounting in presenting high quality of financial reporting practice. Accordingly, corporate governance contributes into the reduction for negative impacts of creative accounting remains unclear and at the center of the debate. Relatively, the research instrument was a questionnaire of 61 questions classified according to the study variables. The distributed samples of the questionnaire were 60, whereas 48 samples returned for analysis in comparison to Cronbach’s Alpha. The study found that the instrument designed to measure the relationship between the research variables has shown a positive outcome. Based on the scores aforementioned, the instrument of this study has shown high levels of reliability. Most of the measurements demonstrate that the existence of a high tendency on the usability of corporate governance in reducing negative creative accounting practices and enhancing the quality of financial reporting. Lastly, the most promising approach seems to be indirect, as it appears that corporate governance primarily causes change and intermediate outcomes, though far from being the most hypothesises relationship.

Title : TiO2-Clay Composites as Dye Degradations: A Review

Abstract :

The development of the industrial sector in the world continues to increase every year in spurring economic growth, especially in the textile industry. This increase has an impact on increasing the amount of textile dye waste. One way to overcome textile dye waste is to utilize TiO2 modified clay (TiO2/clay) with degradation-adsorption techniques. In the last few decades, mineral clay modification is very important as an alternative in material development because it has various potentials to be developed such as catalysts, adsorb media, and ion exchange. TiO2 can act as an ion insertion medium (intercalation) thereby increasing pores and surface area. This review describes the properties of clay, photocatalytic properties of TiO2, surface characteristics, and photocatalytic/adsorption method of TiO2/clay composites. Various types of minerals have been inserted between the clay mineral layers by a variety of different methods and applications, such as rectorite, montmorillonite, kaolinite, vermiculite, and halloysite. In addition, the insertion of metal doping in the photocatalytic/adsorption material can also improve the performance of each of the dyes tested.

Title : Fuzzy Arrangement of Manufacturing Sustainability Practices Priority Level for Malaysian Industry 4.0 Revolution

Abstract :

Nowadays, manufacturing sustainability practices (MSP) have been embedded into daily manufacturing routines. The awareness on MSP have been improved remarkably since early 2000s worldwide where numbers of successful practices have been implemented and proven to be beneficial towards manufacturing firm’s (MF) overall performance. Although varies of practices could be chose to be implemented, it is questionable on the right practice for implementation in order to produce optimum outcome and performance boost. This question is important in ensuring firms’ capability to compete in current challenging market of industry revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). Inspired by this, several key MSP have been extracted by three methods; literature review; simple questionnaire survey; and input from six chosen industry experts. Once MSP list has been finalized and verified by the experts, fuzzy analytic hierarchical process (FAHP) is applied as the final step to enhance the MSP. The result from these analysis divided MSP into its main three pillars where only environmental sustainability (ES) practices could be classified into two division; comprehensive and long-term practices, while economic (ECS) and social sustainability (SS) has 5 and 10 practices respectively. Working towards MSP enhancement, FAHP has sorted ECS practices as the top priority before ES and SS practices. Is it agreed that MF with better economic state has more opportunity for better environmental and social future. Nevertheless, contradict with FAHP done, it is bad to totally leave SS practices because the trend showed that the voice of society influence has significantly increased. Malaysian MF have to increase awareness on SS importance for better future.

Title : Model of Flow Pattern and Scouring on the Variation of Turn Before and After Installing the Permeable Crib of Laboratory Scale Nail Poles Construction

Abstract :

River is as a channel that is naturally formed. One of the river shape that is interesting to be studied is meander river. The condition of river morphology and characteristic that are river moving direction, meander symptom, local scouring danger, and the surface geology condition that indicates river cliffs need indirect protection so the current velocity can flow safely. The usage of nail poles as the river cross crib structure for the protector of clifft and indirect scouring has been more applied, however, there are many function failures of nail poles crib structure construction. This research intends to investigate the most effective of crib formation that is used in three variations of turn starting from the sharp, medium, and normal turn. In addition, as is the modelling in this research, it will be known how is the flow pattern and scouring before and after to be installed the crib on the three variation of turns. The result shows that the perpendicular crib formation is the most effective in decreasing the scouring and sedimentation that is happened

Title : Three-phase, Nine-level Multi-Level Inverter Improved Configuration with Boost Output Voltage and Levels

Abstract :

This paper elucidates a three-phase, 9-level multilevel inverter topology. The proposed multilevel inverter configuration is capable of generating higher voltage value and levels with fewer power circuit components and simplicity. By optimizing the proposed switching scheme through analysis, the total harmonic distortion of the inverter output line voltage waveforms has been reduced. FFT analysis of the output line voltage waveform, gave a corresponding THD value of 9.96%. With balanced R-L load, the validity of the proposed 9-level multilevel inverter is verified through simulation and experiments
