Abstract :

Braking Resistor (BR) or Dynamic Brake known for being one of the effective methods to enhance the transient stability of synchronous generators and power systems, following a significant disturbance. By using the Thyristor Controlled Braking Resistor (TCBR) to control the insertion of the braking resistor to enhance the transient stability of the power system.
