Title : Brushless DC Motor Performance monitoring using Fuzzy Logic System

Abstract :

The electrical motor is subject to several types of faults include mechanical and electrical. To improve the reliability of motor an effective diagnostic system is required. This paper introduces an approach for faults diagnosis of BLDC motor using the stator current, control switches as electrical faults and inner bearing fault as mechanical fault. Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) has been implemented to extract the best feature for result based on the entropy method that selected the optimal mother wavelet and level. Fuzzy Logic System (FLS) has been applied for data analysis of the open circuit, a short circuit in stator winding, open control switch and inner bearing faults. The output result from FLS represents the operation condition of BLDC motor
